THE RIGHT TIRES MAKE A DIFFERENCE

To check whether you’ve hit the 2/32-inch mark, use the penny test as follows:

·       Place a penny in a tire tread groove with Lincoln’s head face first in the groove.

·       Check if Lincoln’s face on the penny disappears between the grooves.

·       If it does, your tread is still above 2/32 inches. If you can see all of Lincoln’s face, it’s time to replace your tire.

·       Make sure to repeat with all tires and in various places on each tire.

As one of automotive youngest dealers, Rene purchased the assets of Valley Magic Motors, Rio Oldsmobile-Cadillac and Cameron Motors in Harlingen, TX in 1992. With these acquired assets, he formed two separate companies operating today as Cardenas Enterprises Incorporated and Cardenas Autoplex Incorporated. These companies are located near the Harlingen Airport on Loop 499. He has represented some of the leading car manufacturers in automotive industry. His representations have included Toyota, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Cadillac, Oldsmobile and Mazda.

Rene Cardenas and Cardenas Mazda are great supporters of the Brownsville Independent School District (BISD) and the students of the Brownsville Community. For 3 consecutive years, Cardenas Mazda has awarded a brand-new Mazda to one lucky graduating senior for perfect attendance. This is a year-long initiative to encourage and improve student attendance and enrollment in BISD. The winner is the result of a drawing from a culmination of perfect attendance students from each high school. Three other consolation prizes are also drawn. Additionally, 110 elementary, middle, and high school students, two per school, vie for 15 grand prize bundles as well. This program has been instrumental in encouraging perfect attendance thereby increasing academic achievement. There are many other initiatives that Cardenas has supported our Valley communities.

By supporting the communities of the Valley, Cardenas has went beyond having a customer base to creating fans from Brownsville, Harlingen, Los Fresnos, San Benito, Mercedes, Raymondville, and South Padre, Island.
