Almost two years ago, the Mazda3 was redesigned. The new design, Kodo, is the latest design by Mazda that features a more sleek and smooth design rather than sharp lines that are commonly seen today. Recently, the 2020 Mazda3 won 2020 World Car Design of the Year. We think that once you see this vehicle, it is easy to see why it was chosen. Learn more below.
How does a vehicle win the World Car Design of the Year?
In 2004, the World Car of the Year was established by an international group of journalists. For 2020, there were 86 journalists from 25 countries that did the judging. The journalists looked for vehicles that have a unique and different style that pushes boundaries. The 2020 Mazda3 beat out the Peugeot 208 and Porsche Taycan to become the recipient of the 2020 World Car Design of the Year award.
What does the 2020 Mazda3 look like?
The designers at Mazda decided to go with a less is more method when designing the 2020 Mazda3. As the vehicle goes down the street, you will see it more almost like a wave due to the smoothness of the exterior. It also gives off a powerful vibe. We should also note that there both a 2020 Mazda3 sedan and 2020 Mazda3 hatchback. The sedan has more of a classy and elegant feel to it while the hatchback has more of a passionate feel to it.
